About usThis role includes accommodation if required.The Rod and Line is a small business in Tideford, about 6 miles from Saltash and approximatly 8 miles from Liskeard. We are small, but hardworking team who thrive in a fast paced environment and love what we do. We have a fantastic reputation for our food, and our menu is small but very popular. It includes a wide range of fish and shellfish, as well as seasonal dishes, and local meats. We are looking for a passionate individual who wants to cook our menu, learn new skills and grow with the business. This is a full time position, and will include working evenings and weekends. Our kitchen is open all day everyday, so there are no split shift patterns, and rates of pay will depend on ability and experience.Duties:- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and customer preferences- Oversee the kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating- Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in accordance with food safety and quality standards- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area- Train and supervise kitchen staff membersExperience:- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a professional kitchen setting is preferred but not essential- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines- Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely preparation of meals- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment- Strong communication and leadership skillsNote: Accomodation can be provided for the right applicants, there are two positions available.
