An excellent opportunity has arisen to apply a Cook’s post at Gibson House. We are a dynamic team working in a Residential and Respite care home for children and young people with learning disabilities and difficulties, including ASD. The role includes promoting and preparing healthy meals for the young people and the staff team. You will be working in an industrial kitchen as part of a small team but will also be liaising with the home around menus, food ordering, as well as gathering the likes and dislikes of the young people. There is the opportunity to help the children and young people gain essential life skills that they will take into their adult lives and to allow them to live healthy and balanced lives by promoting nutritional food options and advice. You will maintain hygiene standards and undertake stock control.
