Job description
We are looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.
We are looking for an experienced cook to work in our resident tearoom 'Tillys' - you are required to accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as make sandwiches and prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. You will also be required to work as the barista when needed (during busy times) taking customer orders, making drinks and clearing tables. You will be given full training on how to operate the till. Some baking experience is desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain a customer focus while performing duties
· Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
· Prepare all food for cooking in ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment
· Complete opening and closing check lists
· Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products
· Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area
· Handles, stores, labels and rotates all products properly
· Closes the tearoom and kitchen properly and follows the closing check list
· Perform other related duties as assigned by your manager

Tea Room opening 9:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday and 10-4pm on Saturdays - Hours include every other Saturday and day off in the week.
Must be available to work 9:30am - 4pm
Experience in food preparation is a plus but not required.

Position Summary:
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
- Perform other duties as assigned by the executive or owner
Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Some experience in the restaurant industry preferred.
