The job itself

We are seeking to appoint an experienced caterer for the role of Cook at Keldmarsh Primary School. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a busy kitchen environment and the ability to take the lead on meal preparation and delivery, alongside managing a busy kitchen team.

The role:

• Excellent hours - 30 hours per week
• Monday to Friday 8:00am - 2:00pm
• Term time only contract (194 days to include 4 cleaning days)
• Permanent role
• Plan in the preparation, cooking and presentation of food to the highest standard
• Manage and guide the catering team
• Contribute to high levels of customer service
• Comply and have full knowledge of regulations regarding Health & Safety, ensuring that best food practices and hygiene procedures are adhered to.

Desirable attributes for this post include:

• Catering qualification such as NVQ L2 or equivalent
• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate
• Working knowledge of the Government's food standards
• An understanding of allergens and special dietary requirements
