Key responsibilities/duties:
· Ensure that optimal standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained throughout the kitchen, and that standards of practice prescribed by Environmental Health Agencies are met
· To conform to the Care Home’s Food Hygiene procedures
· Ensure all equipment used is well maintained and to log any defects with the manager
· To prepare well-balanced meals and beverages to the highest quality incorporating, cultural and dietary needs as required by the residents and staff of the Home
· To liaise with residents in planning menus that reflect choice and preferences and to ensure all stock ordered is consistent with said menus and choices.
· To cooperate with the Home Manager by maintaining the catering budget and to ensure catering services are provided to the appropriate standards to residents
· To maintain and check First Aid equipment within the Kitchen and maintain an accurate stock control
· Carry out good food management, temperature controls and HACCP documentation according to current Food Hygiene regulations
· Competitive salary: up to £11.50/hr

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Luton, LU1 4BJ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Cooks: 2 years (required)
