Financial Controller – Sports Marketing Agency

London based offering flexible hybrid working

Paying £75,000 – 80,000 + Benefits

Talentedge are currently working with an extremely exciting high growth sports marketing agency who are looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their team during this exciting growth period.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their finance career in a vibrant agency environment and take responsibility of the day to day running of a finance function, working closely with key business stakeholders as the key point of contact for finance.

Responsibilities Include:

• Managing the day to day finance function and developing the finance team
• Producing the monthly management accounts and reporting pack wit commentary and explanations of any variances
• Oversee the group month end and reporting process
• Overseeing the annual statutory accounts production as well as assisting with any audit queries
• Managing the working capital of the business efficiently, particularly the billing cycle
• Monitoring the Work in Progress of the business to identify costs or time not billed
• Overseeing all finance processes and controls including payment run approvals and sales invoicing
• Preparing and agree the VAT returns
• Management of external relationships including banks, auditors / accounting firms
• Partnering with Account Directors to ensure accurate initial job set up, reporting and budget control.
• Managing the foreign currency requirements
• Overseeing the annual statutory accounts production as well as assisting with any audit queries

The Ideal Person:

• Qualified accountant ACA / ACCA / CIMA
• Experience within the media / marketing services sector is preferable
• Excellent technical finance experience is essential
• A proven track record of supporting business growth
• A proven track record of mentoring and developing junior reports
• Excellent communication skills
