Remote Property Management Assistant Controller
This is a Remote Position - working hours will be Eastern Time Zone regardless of applicant location. Periodic in person meetings may be required.
Signature Properties is a growing real estate acquisition and management firm specializing in multifamily residential properties across Maryland and the Washington DC metro area.
This position will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting support functions for a portfolio of properties while working under minimal supervision. Performs accounting and reporting including set up and accounting for complex multi-tier investment entities. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and other reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Financial reporting – provide primary oversight, review and sign off on financial statements, including coordination with tax preparers. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Cash management coordination among various entities.
- Responsible for preparing budgets, cash flow models, forecasts and other analytical reports.
- Accountable for managing operational data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy
- Prepare tax workbooks.
- Analyzes and reporting cost variances.
- Ad hoc projects as needed.
Requirements:
- BS/BA degree in accounting required
- 5-8 years’ experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience with Yardi accounting software is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF formulas)
- Ability to take initiative and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong interpersonal/communications skill, both written and oral.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.
- Ability to effectively prioritize competing demands and communicate issues in a clear and concise way to peers and upper management.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
