An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Finance team as a Financial Reporting Controller (FRC).
The Role:
You will be responsible for monitoring risk, internal control, balance sheet integrity and statutory financial reporting within the business to ensure compliance with global DHL financial procedures as well as international accounting standards. You will be working as a key member of the DHL Air UK Finance team to regularly review controls and processes and implement process improvement plans.
Your main duties will include:
- Being responsible for the overall integrity, accuracy and completeness of monthly actual reporting of the DHL Air Limited results.
- Managing the local internal control programme, liaising with the appropriate colleagues to address any areas of deficiency.
- Assisting with statutory audits, mitigating risks and identifying potential areas of non-compliance.
- Overseeing the preparation of the annual Financial Statements, including liaising with the UK tax team to assist with the Corporation Tax return.
- Ensuring integrity of the balance sheet through monitoring of reconciliations and regular interaction with the EFSS.
- Reviewing the payroll reconciliations on a monthly basis and pro-actively addressing any issues with the EFSS and local payroll/HR teams.
- Managing the introduction of IFRS 16.
- Preparing annual adjustments required for the defined benefit pension scheme, including liaising with our external actuaries.
- Providing technical support and advice to the department as required.
- Other finance related tasks as and when required in order to support the business.
Skills and Experience required for the role:
- Educated to Degree level (or equivalent).
- Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA or equivalent)
- Substantial post-qualification experience ideally with previous experience in an audit firm.
- A strong working knowledge of MS Office packages with excellent Excel skills and an ability to work with complex system applications.
- Good working knowledge of IFRS.
- Good working knowledge of UK GAAP is desirable.
- Customer and stakeholder focus with an ability to build and manage partnerships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong and professional business acumen with the ability to be proactive and implement solutions where needed.
- Excellent time management skills with the capability of working in a fast paced/high change business.
- A willingness to embrace the DHL ethos and lead by example.
