Barretts Event Caterers specialise in outside catering throughout the North West at events such as weddings, lunches, drinks receptions and product launches at prestigious venues across the area including Colshaw Hall, Merrydale Manor and Arley Hall.
Barretts Events are looking for a Bookkeeper to join our small,friendly team. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for processing and maintaining financial records and accounting for the company’s expenditures and revenues.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare bank deposits and statements
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Daily reconciliations of all bank deposits, credit card transactions, payroll, etc.
- Manage End to End Payroll using Sage 50
- Reconcile sales tax payments
- Ensure that all supplier invoices are managed and paid on time
- Ensure that all expenditures are posted accurately on the books
- Perform monthly reconciliations of all accounts
- Provide valuable insights through meticulous analysis of financial data. Generate reports, forecasts, and budgets
- Manage general ledger accounts including accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, prepaid sales tax sales, etc.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience of using Sage accounting software
- Able to do accounts up to trail balance
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, demonstrating a strong grasp of financial principles and regulations
- Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail, ensuring precise record-keeping and timely financial reporting

- Stockport: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
- bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
