We are currently seeking a Contracts Manger to join us in our Redditch office. This is a good opportunity to join a close-knit, collaborative team providing critical support for Stantec across the UK & Ireland. Its an exciting time for our business as we seek to achieve our ambitious growth targets and diversify our portfolio of services.
On a day to day basis, you will oversee and assist the contracts team with drafting, reviewing and the negotiation of contractual documents for all legal entities and business divisions within the UK & Ireland. You will assess and improve our contracting processes and practices– taking in feedback, looking at helpful technology, and streamlining any complexities.
You will promote the contracts governance process within the business and liaise with stakeholders and third parties. You will ensure that all contracts are released/signed by duly authorised representatives in line with published policies and procedures and help with the identification of risks on contractual matters.
Generally, you will work with the Corporate Counsel and the risk management / legal team in its roles and responsibilities in the business.
You will have the support of the senior members of the contracts and legal team and will have the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the team. We can also offer flexible and remote working options to help ensure you have a good work life balance.
ABOUT YOU
You will ideally be qualified with a relevant degree. You will have some experience as a Contracts Manager, Specialist or equivalent and having experience in a professional services or construction industry would be an advantage.
You will have working knowledge of:- Contract variations, Indemnities, Liability caps, Insurance cover, Penalties, Defect warranties, Termination rights, Confidentiality agreements, Brexit considerations, Track record in drafting, negotiating and managing commercial contracts. You will have general knowledge of basic legal areas such as dispute forums, compliance with law, ethical practices and procurement requirements.
You will have the ability to work with varying seniority levels, including staff, managers, and external partners. You will have a high degree of self-management, initiative, reliability and flexibility to ensure that the best possible service is given to internal and external clients.
You will be a self-motivated individual with an interest in or ability to manage others.
