Established in 2011 Wowcher is now the second largest daily deal site in the UK. Our site uses the power of group buying to get unbeatable deals on the best stuff to do, see, visit, eat and buy in a variety of cities in the UK. We target young, affluent females who can’t resist the temptation of our WOW factor deals, and focus our marketing spend on adding to our large database. Wowcherland can be found in Dalston, London, where most of our fun and fabulous team reside.
Marketing, CRM & Business Insight Department:
The Marketing and CRM department has full control and visibility over a consumer’s lifecycle and interaction with us as a brand. We build strong brand awareness through our ATL marketing, drive initial visitation and subscriptions through our various digital marketing channels and maximise engagement and loyalty through personalisation within our push marketing channels. As a team, we are constantly optimising and growing our marketing activity through data-driven decisions all with a unified goal of acquiring new users and keeping those users active and engaged with our brand.
The business insight team support with BAU reporting, ad-hoc analysis, and the creation of bespoke personalisation algorithms which are used within the email and push notifications.
The whole team has access to several data manipulation tools like python, SQL, and Adobe which means we can really dig into the data that is driving fluctuations in performance. We have a constant test and learn approach within each area of marketing, ensuring knowledge of any successes (or failures) is shared amongst the wider team. We pride ourselves on being a smart, enthusiastic, and motivated team, who strives to grow and improve year after year.
Role Summary
This is a new role within the department which we believe will accelerate our ability to utilise our data to enhance our consumer personalisation capabilities and grow our relationship with new and existing merchants.
From a B2C perspective, we want to improve and create new personalisation streams within our touchpoints with consumers. An example of one project will be to focus on improving our existing personalisation models within our email communication and creating new personalisation models which exploit additional data points that are currently unutilised.
From a B2B perspective, we want to provide a more bespoke experience and enrich the relationship between ourselves and our merchants. An example of a project will be the creation of a centralised data hub which provides merchants with the insight and forecasts needed to drive incremental revenue and growth for both parties.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ability to clean and validate data to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
- Use combined knowledge of computer science, modelling, statistics, and analytics to create new personalisation algorithms and optimise existing ones.
- Use strong commercial expertise, and mine vast amounts of data, for useful insights and trends to enhance B2B proposition.
- Understand the phases of a consumer’s lifecycle, identifying opportunities where we can increase their LTV and engagement
- Developing interactive dashboards that visualise real-time data & trends
- Building scalable machine learning pipelines and using engineering and optimisation methods to improve data set performance
Key Qualifications & Characteristics:
- A degree in mathematics or statistics.
- 3+ years of industry experience.
- Advanced experience with machine learning and programming.
- Experience using data visualization tools.
- Experience with data querying languages, and statistical or mathematical software and competency with any one of these tools: PostGress SQL & Python
- Proficient in writing algorithms and knowing when to apply them.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to understand commercial implications of data
- Independent, structured, and precise work ethic
- Experience within e-Commerce preferrable but not mandatory
