We are looking to recruit 4 enthusiastic, forward thinking individuals to the residential Contracts Team, within Financial Support Services.
The Financial Support Services (FSS), based at Britannia House in Bradford’s city centre is made up of four teams with specific functions linked to the Departments responsibilities set out in Sections 14, 17 and 69-70 of the Care Act 2014.
Some of the key duties of FSS are making payments to providers that are delivering care and support services to vulnerable adults in the district, ensuring people receiving those services are financially assessed to contribute towards the cost of the service, which could be in their own home or in residential and nursing placements.
FSS is also responsible for supporting people who are unable to manage their financial affairs or do not have others in their life that can help them to do so.
The Contracts Team are responsible for providing financial services to people who are entering residential care and for people who choose to meet their care needs using the Direct Payments scheme.
As a Contracts Officer you will be involved in the preparation of contracts and payments to residential care providers and for people who are receiving direct payments.
You will carry out financial assessments, financial reviews and will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the deferred payments scheme.
You will require:
- Maths and English GCSE grade A-C as a minimum
- Experience of working in a computerised environment preferably within a Customer Service environment, including providing information and advice via the telephone.
- Experience of using complex IT packages and the ability to extract and manipulate data.
- Must be accurate and able to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Be able to look at and compile complex and detailed information and relay this in various formats to service users, relatives, care providers and other key stakeholders.
- The ability to adopt and actively contribute to a process of continuous improvement within the service.
- Experience in problem solving and analysis of complex information
- Some knowledge of DWP Benefits would be advantageous but is not essential
