MTVH's Contract Manager - Domestic Heating Water & Safety you see you be responsible for managing a defined group of contracts delivering servicing and maintenance of domestic heating. In addition, you will be responsible for setting the strategy for the servicing of domestic heating.

It is expected that you proactively keep MTVH up to date on best practice for gas safety, relating to equipment and servicing streams.

You will be responsible for monitoring contract budgets and ensuring services are managed effectively, providing value for money and delivering the agreed services. You will work closely with appointed consultants who will provide support relating to statutory and regulatory compliance and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and challenge the contractors? performance to ensure high quality services are delivered and that the contract continuously improves experience of customers in relation to reactive domestic heating equipment repair, servicing programmes and reporting.
  • Report on contractor performance and against corporate compliance KPIs
  • Responsibility for contractual budget monitoring, seeking to achieve value for money throughout the life of each contract under management.
  • Ensure contracts are fully compliant with all relevant statutory, regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Ensure that all responsive repairs to domestic heating equipment are carried out promptly to a high standard.
  • Work closely with the planned investment team to establish programme of capital replacement works if required
  • Ensure staff performance is formally reviewed in accordance with MTVH policy and that regular one to ones are held with your staff.
  • Ensure payments are made according to the terms of the contract and following MTVH financial regulations.
  • Review quality assurance inspection reports to ensure that works have been undertaken to the required standard and in accordance with the contract specification.
  • Have oversight and co-ordinate with technical professionals to make commercial decisions about out of scope works, based upon contractor / consultant reports.
  • Operationally lead on the IT systems related to domestic heating at MTVH including reporting.
  • Chair and co-ordinate contract management meetings and manage all aspects of the Contract Administration function.
  • Deal with all enquiries and complaints in accordance with the timescales and procedures for such issues. Identify any changes and other improvements to reduce the likelihood of a repeat.
  • Consider and propose improvements to systems, procedures and the service generally so as to help in the continuous improvement of the service taking on board feedback from customers.
  • Assist with the procurement and commercial evaluation of contracts. Provide feedback on the contract specification, making recommendations on where the standard specification can be improved.
  • Develop and deliver MTVH?s strategy in relation to domestic heating equipment servicing.
  • Create and maintain an asset register for all MTVH sites with domestic heating equipment.
  • Produce plans clearly detailing processes and ownership of domestic heating equipment servicing and maintenance from development through to day-to-day management
  • Review terms and conditions of leases and tenancy agreements, to ensure terms and conditions are uniformed to reflect management repair liability and charging processes (MBOA).
  • Manage domestic heating equipment servicing and maintenance contracts and relationships. Act as single point of contact for the service providers. Engage new providers to ensure continue value for money for the organisation and our customers.
  • Engage with Development on domestic heating equipment requirements for new developments

What you'll need to succeed

  • Familiarity and knowledge of the regulatory framework governing compliance; repairs; sustainability or planned workstreams that you will be responsible for
  • Knowledge and experience of contract administration e.g. JCT / NEC / TPC and running multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent negotiating skills and experience of developing and managing sound client relationships.
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Technical competence or training in the workstream/s you will be managing including knowledge of relevant compliance legislation
  • Educated to relevant degree level or above
