We’ve made significant investments in automation technology and our E-Commerce platform, and we need digital-savvy team members to help push us even further!

Looking for a new challenge? Then we have an exciting new opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our Operational Excellence Team based at our Castle Donington Distribution Centre to assess, monitor, and enhance business performance for our organisation. This role will be responsible for analysing current practices and developing business process improvements. The position will implement changes in workflows, structures and teams to ensure continuous company performance.

An overview of what you'll be involved in:

  • Manage the Continuous Improvement projects that underpin the annual strategic pillars, staying on top of status, signalling bottlenecks and proposing creative solutions to remove them.
  • Facilitate management team to identify and develop annual improvement plans consistent and in support of the strategic plan and business operating plan.
  • Track, monitor and implement required improvement activities related to business plan, goals, issues.
  • Ability to translate highly ambiguous business problems into structured analysis, and develop well-founded solutions in a structured, yet creative way.
  • Work with employees at all levels throughout the location to achieve Operational Excellence goals.
  • Leads and drives lean transformation and change initiatives.
  • Facilitates and/or conducts lean training programs, Kaizen events, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Tracks, measures, and reports progress on improvement opportunities
  • Work with Planning, Finance and Efficiency teams to ensure alignment of processed to the Production Plan in relation to volume, labour, efficiency and rate in line with target costs
  • Review site deployment to ensure adherence and consistency across departments and shifts
  • Analyse weekly site performance to Production Plan. Work with Operational teams to root cause where performance has not achieved targets and work collaboratively to root cause and counter measure causes

We are looking for someone who has a commercial / analytical approach with experience of working in a fast-moving distribution environment or similar. They will need to be adept at cost management, able to demonstrate process improvement and provide cost benefit analysis. In addition, they will need: -

  • To have excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data sets and make business recommendations based on results
  • An understanding the latest management methodology and embody top leadership principles and styles in their management duties
  • To be an excellent communicator, with an ability to challenge, influence and persuade others to move towards a common vision / goal in an environment where no two days are the same
