We have an exciting new opportunity for a Continuous improvement coordinator to join the operations team in Willenhall, reporting to the UK & I Operational Excellence manager.
What you would do as our Continuous Improvement Coordinator:
We are looking for you to continue to build a culture of continuous improvement and drive the reduction in operating costs through the application of lean techniques at the Portobello site.
Reporting into the UK&I Operational Excellence Manager, you would:
- Deploy the Global Operational Excellence model throughout the Portobello site
- Conduct Lean awareness training and workshops with participants across all levels and areas of the business
- Champion Continuous Improvement activities across the site
- Lead and coordinate improvement activities through the application of lean techniques to improve; Safety & Sustainability, Quality, Delivery and reduce Costs
- Educate team members across the site in Lean techniques and their application including value stream mapping, 5S, 8 wastes, Theory of Constraints, OEE, TPM, SMED, Problem solving, process mapping, standardised work, Kanban etc...
- Coordinate preparations for the Global Operational Excellence assessment for the Portobello site
- Support operations supervision with the introduction of Daily management and embedding a culture of structured problem solving within daily operations
- Analysis of complex data as the basis for improvement workshops
- Planning and delivery improvement activities
- Support engineering and project teams with the implementation of new layouts/plant and equipment to generate flow and eliminate waste
- Support the improvement framework and team member development
- Support site Manufacturing Footprint Projects (MFP) to drive waste out of processes
- Benchmark with UK and EMEIA sites to ensure best practices are in operation
- Generate improvement summary documents to quantify benefits and feedback results
- Present results and findings of improvement activities to senior management
- Identify and introduce leading indicators to improve operational performance
The skills and experience you need:
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication skills combined with an ability to listen and influence teams
- Has proven experience in operational matters in a fast-moving dynamic environment
- Is experienced in presenting to large groups
- Has experience of running improvement workshops
- Has experience in ing Lean techniques in a manufacturing environment
- Holds a Lean and Engineering qualification
