Job description
The Continence Advisory Service is a small team within Berkshire Foundation Health Care Trust. It Provides advice and support to meet the continence needs of the people of Berkshire from childhood into adulthood. The administrators in our team are key members who provide telephone contact for patients in regards prescriptions, clinic appointments and our home delivery service. The service consists of administrators, nurses, nursey nurse and a women’s health physiotherapist we all work together to provide a vibrant environment that cares greatly for all within the service.
- Provide administrative support to the Continence Advisory Service.
- Manage telephone calls on an individual basis with service users and deal sensitively and appropriately and take relevant action depending on the nature of the call.
- To input patients order details onto the continence service product databases and observe confidentiality in accordance with GDPR.
- To act as a link between staff, service users and other service users by receiving and giving informed and accurate information, whilst maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Provide general and product related advice and information to service users, carers and clinical staff over the telephone.
- Arrange clinic appointments as appropriate.
- Demonstrate empathy and understanding of the patient and carers emotional needs.

- Minimal face-to-face patient contact however must have excellent Interpersonal telephone skills – be able to manage sensitive personal information.
- IT skills – knowledge of key operating systems such as Microsoft and RIO
- Manage own workload daily, independently and without supervision and to demonstrate the flexibility required to respond to interruptions and changing priorities.
- Experience of databases and record keeping.
