Position Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Corporate Marketing and Design, the Digital Media Content Creator is responsible for building a new digital marketing stream to broaden GTAAs communications reach by engaging passengers while building brand reputation. This role will work to engage with passengers who are on TikTok and Instagram and will drive our push for greater transparency and education of the public. This creator will also engage and collaborate with other digital influencers to tell our stories and promote initiatives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Build engaging content for GTAA-managed social media channels, with a focus on video for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok
- Implement the overall social media marketing strategy for Toronto Pearson, including brand, voice, and tone Explore new social media features, improvements, and platforms, with a focus on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok
- Assist with the development and maintenance of a short-form video social media strategy and calendar
- Report on campaign metrics as well as performance, and provide recommendations for improvements
- Work with external agencies to develop creative assets and templates for social media campaigns
- Identify relevant social media trends, industry-related topics and content opportunities for Pearson
- Moderate all user-generated content online with the moderation policy for each community
- Co-ordinate with other departments about new services, offerings and changes across the company that will affect messaging
- Design marketing assets for a variety of formats, including social media, newsletters, web, and airport screens
- Support on creative briefs for design and marketing agencies
- Ensure design assets are visually appealing and adhere to brand guidelines
- Provide photography support for airport events, launches, campaigns, content, and internal requests
- Co-ordinate marketing campaigns with internal partners and agencies
- Other duties as assigned include act as a back up to Social Media Specialist as well as escort journalists on site
This is a unionized position with an hourly wage of $38.76, based on a 37.5 hour work week. The successful candidate must be available to commence the duties of the position once a selection decision has been made. A practical test will be administered as a part of the competitive process.
Qualifications:
- University degree or 3 years College diploma focusing on: Digital Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a Related Field, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
- 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced work environment such as a digital marketing agency or corporate setting
- 3 years’ of experience working in social-media marketing, video production or as a digital-medial specialist
- Proven experience creating visual content for digital media
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s License
- Able to acquire and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven work experience in social-media marketing or as a digital-media specialist, in particular expertise working on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok channels
- Ability to produce video content for social-media platforms
- Strong video production, editing and photography skills
- Demonstrable social networking experience and knowledge of social analytics tools
- Knowledge of online marketing and a solid understanding of major marketing channels
- Evidence of strong editorial judgement including examples of creating content for corporate sites
- Positive demeanour, attention to detail and customer orientation
- Good multitasking and organizational skills with a proven track record of working with confidential information
- Confirmed experience using photography and creating graphics tell stories and able to use tools such as Photoshop, In Design
- Strong graphic design, visual communication skills and a keen eye for aesthetics and details Understanding of Search Engine Optimization standard methodologies
- Strong writing and editing skills for a variety of public-facing channels, especially social media
- Strong proficiency with computer applications such as Apple and Microsoft 2010
- Strong proficiency with video and photo editing applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, or apps ranging from PowerDirector, ViaMaker or BeeCut
