Senior Content Marketing Executive
Location: Central London, twice a week, near Kings Cross
Salary: Up to £45,000 base plus benefits
The sky’s the limit for this rapidly scaling leisure and entertainment organisation as they target in on achieving a 5-fold increase in revenue over the coming couple of years; turning them into a £100m operation.
Your target audience are kids and their parents.
Your product is about having fun, being active and playing.
So it’s not going to be hard to find creative angles needed to really bring it to life via social media and email channels.
You’ve got to think about how to position in such a way to appeal to parents and kids across these platforms, and what makes good, engaging content which is sharable.
You’re going to have an army of socially savvy recruits standing by at each of the company’s locations, ready to make TikToks, Reels or Threads for you to curate, productionise and push in order to build the brand’s social presence and audience engagement.
Additionally, on the email side, you won’t be doing anything technical. You’ve got an agency to support with that. Instead, you’ll be the one putting the content together. Considering the different journeys needed and content which will go into them. Testing and optimising each to ensure it’s delivering as expected.
Although an established operation, the business is still relatively lean on processes and infrastructure. This extends to the maturity of their email and social platforms too. You’ll be joining at a phase of significant growth, which is also leading to investment in these platforms and some of the martech which powers it.
These changes are coming together as the company looks to re-brand following a series of acquisitions. Bringing everything together under the one brand which gives you opportunity to completely re-think what’s in place now and what’s needed for the future.
You’ll be supported from a strategic standpoint by the Head of Brand and Marketing. Additionally there’s a strong set of brand guidelines which will help you define tone of voice and positioning for content.
With email marketing, this means considering each potential customer journey and promotional message. Deciding the content strategy, pulling it all together, testing it and scale up to go-live
On the social media side, it’s deciding a content and campaign plan for the year. Identifying key promotional windows and what content is needed to support big pushes. This content needs to be right for each relevant platform, promoting various party nights, special events, promotional activities and general interest themes. Ensuring this content led approach successfully raises the profile of venues and the brand, connecting and expanding the organisation’s reach and appeal.
Content needs to connect and appeal with parents aged 30-45 years, as well as kids between 5 and 16. Plus various clubs, societies and schools across these platforms.
But realistically, this is a very creative opportunity, grounded by solid emphasis on production and creation. Helping an ambitious organisation with a playful and youthful exuberance realise its voice across social and email channels.
Interview process
There will be two stages, the first being 1-2-1 via video interview.
The second is an in-person meet at their London HQ and will require a task to be delivered, coupled with a behavioural/competency style interview.
Key Experience Needed
- Experience of content creation and curation for both social and email marketing channels for a B2C / D2C consumer brand
- Experience of the above working in the travel, hotels/hospitality, leisure or entertainment industry would be ideal
- Good knowledge of the difference social media channels and how to best plan, put together, test and execute content led campaigns over them
- An understanding of content planning and creation for email marketing channels. Including their testing and refinement to optimise performance (A/B testing, MVT, etc.)
