Overview
Location: Central London (note: expectation to be in the office at least twice a week, travel for work purposes may be required)
Duration: 1 Year / 40 hours per week
As we continue our journey to become a global leader in the digital world, it’s imperative that we continue to build and invest in our teams and capabilities.
The successful intern will gain hands on experience by:
Contributing to Consulting focused projects by providing a range of support services to project delivery teams for internal (other Hitachi companies) and external clients.
This may include (and will be taught):
Conducting research into markets, clients and digital solutions.
Creating process flows.
Project Administration (supporting a Project Manager).
Creating presentations and other documentation (with direction from colleagues).
Writing functional requirements/user stories etc.
Conducting testing of digital solutions.
Learning about how Digital technologies can transform business and how Digital initiatives are designed, created and delivered.
The interns will also have the opportunity to secure a full-time position in Hitachi Vantara after completion of the internship.
How it will work
Interns will be assigned a buddy and a mentor to provide advice and support through the internship.
They will be given training on the core concepts of consulting, project delivery, project management etc in the first few weeks and will be given ad-hoc on the job training throughout.
They will have access to self-teach tools such as Percipio
They will shadow various people (Business Analysts, PMOs, Change Managers, etc) on various projects for the first few weeks and then (hopefully) be placed on a client project thereafter.
They will be expected to travel as and when needed.
The type of individual we are looking for
The intern will have a real interest in learning about the Consulting industry and how Digital Transformation can have a positive impact on commerce and society.
The intern must possess a positive mindset and will be willing to ‘get stuck in’ to arrange of different initiatives during their tenure with Hitachi.
They will have an innovative mindset and be able to confidently contribute to discussions and solution/ideation sessions, whilst at the same time be detailed in their thought-process in order to deliver accurate outputs.
The intern will also take great pride in their work and will produce good quality outputs (under the direction and support of colleagues).
They will thrive when working in teams, but also be comfortable with working by themselves on specific tasks.
They will have a thirst for knowledge and take every opportunity to learn more and acquire new skills either through on-the-job activities or through learning activities.
They will be good communicators and contribute to the good of the team as and when required.
Qualifications:
Preferably someone who has completed or is studying business studies/management/administration as a component part of their course.
Preferably someone who has studied and is interested in digital concepts and has familiarity with digital technology concepts and capabilities like IoT, AI/ML, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Agile Solution Development concepts.

We will conduct an initial interview (about 1 hour) - We expect you to create a presentation which should last 15 minutes talking about you and your transferable skills, the reasons you believe consulting is for you and talking about what you believe you will be doing during the internship
Then we will conduct a 1 day assessment center with a final 1 hour’ interviews with the selected candidates
Internship is likely to commence around the 04th September (it will be confirmed on your offer letter)
