Job description

Connect to your Industry

Our Technology Consulting practice provides clients with the solutions that they need for their complex technology programmes. We cross the divide that other suppliers to Government cannot bridge - we discover our client’s unique needs with them, help their business change and adapt, innovate together with creativity, design and build-out their agile solutions, whilst coaching and mentoring leaders at all levels.

We are proud of the impact we have with our Defence, Security and Home Affairs (DSHA) clients, the strength of our relationships, and the depth and breadth of our skills that we bring to help them achieve their mission – we are privileged to be asked to work with them at the heart of their biggest and most ambitious technology programmes.

If you are an experienced Geospatial Analyst with a desire to make a difference, willing to travel within the UK and work with our DSHA clients, and are either already security cleared to DV or willing to be, then this opportunity is for you!

Connect to your career at Deloitte

Deloitte drives progress. Using our vast range of expertise, that covers audit, risk advisory, and consulting services across tax, legal, business, technology and corporate finance, we help our clients become leaders wherever they choose to compete. To do this, we invest in outstanding people. We build teams of future thinkers, with diverse talents and backgrounds, and empower them all to reach for and achieve more.

What brings us all together at Deloitte? It’s how we approach the thousands of decisions we make every day. How we behave, our beliefs and our attitudes. In other words: our values. Whatever we do, wherever we are in the world, we lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other, foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact. These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.

Connect to your opportunity

The primary focus of your role will be to design, lead and undertake analysis that solves the client’s operational challenges and to support their decision-making process. This will use a combination of management and technical skills to:

  • Support the engagement director or partner.
  • Work with leading COTS tools, and those from innovative start-ups, to provide analytical reports, GEOINT products, graphics and briefings to communicate the analysis undertaken.
  • Customise and develop on COTS geospatial, “Big Data” and cloud platforms to satisfy non-standard product requirements.
  • Lead on geospatial data management, if required by the client.
  • Build and maintain client relationships to support the sales process.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

We want people who will embody technology delivery and who understand the connection between the business problem and the technology solution and have the professional and personal skills to make a real difference to our clients.

Essential

  • Experience of Geospatial Analysis experience, preferably within a DSHA context.
  • Experience using products from key vendors such as Esri, Hexagon, Luciad, SafeSoftware, Palantir and Google Earth.
  • Experience of planning and conducting geospatial data management at scale.
  • Experience with Python, RStudio, Hadoop, Tableau, MapBox, Leaflet and web development technologies.
  • Familiarity of undertaking development and analysis within a cloud environment.
  • Experience of modern Agile software development methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with excellent problem solving and conceptual thinking capabilities.

Desirable

  • Additional experience using imagery exploitation products, such as SOCET GXP or RemoteView.
  • A degree in a GIS related field.
