About The Role
Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet is a purely elective care hospital, focusing on orthopaedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, ENT, urology and Gynaecology. Within this collaborative team you will provide a full range of speciality diagnosis, treatment and care to inpatients, day cases and outpatients.
As a key member of the centre’s team you will be working closely with our team of Consultants across a wide range of specialisms and the hospital’s Medical Director, Alison, and local Leadership Team. Furthermore, you will be a key contributor to the development of Clinical Quality Standards and participate in our audit and clinical governance programme.
About You
You will have full and specialist GMC registration as well as experience of working in general surgery, especially laparoscopic procedures (hernia repair and cholecystectomy). As part of our professional, friendly and compassionate team you will do everything you can to ensure the patient’s treatment is of the highest standard whether NHS or privately funded. Reporting to our Hospital Medical Director, you will provide a full range of surgical diagnosis, treatment and care to inpatients, day patients and outpatients who require general surgery.

In this role you will participate in the audit, research and management of the services and may be allocated responsibility for the clinical supervision of junior medical and clinical staff.
