Construction Supervisor/Superintendent - Astra Zeneca - Macclesfield
- Provision of Construction Superintendent support to the AstraZeneca FM Campus Project Solutions Local Projects Function
Accountabilities –
Joint Accountabilities within UK Construction Networks
Collaborate with other Construction Superintendents to ensure Construction project activities within the CPS portfolio of projects are delivered safely on time, on budget and to the desired quality
Work with the Macclesfield Construction lead and SHE lead to drive continuous improvements in construction delivery using UK wide examples of best practice
Collaborate with Project Managers and Construction Engineers to ensure appropriate safe systems of work are in place to support project activities across the site
Specific role accountabilities
Attend all relevant project meetings and support the Construction Engineer in the development of construction strategies and estimates.
Ensure no project starts on site until you have agreed it with the applicable Construction Engineer.
Ensure all mandatory site signage is in place in prominent places
Ensure that a suitable and sufficient risk assessment is in place for all construction activities
Advise contractors on PTW requirements, & retain control of high risk activities.
Ensure project contact list is displayed on the site notice board.
Ensure all operatives direct to AZ are site and project inducted and ensure that induction records are passed to CPS admin for filing.
Ensure all construction work is being undertaken in compliance with all mandatory legislation.
Ensure any change to previously agreed scope/ways of working is robustly managed.
Ensure the agreed Safe System of Work is being implemented
Ensure all mandatory and task specific PPE is being worn by operatives on all of your aligned projects.
Work with the contractors to assist in co-ordinating construction activities.
Monitor site conditions on a daily basis, ensure good standards of housekeeping are being maintained.
Assist with project waste management ensuring that waste is correctly segregated and that adequate provision is made for waste receptacles.
Report all accidents and incidents on site to the aligned Construction Engineer.
Carry out formal weekly safety audits on projects. Ensure Project Managers are involved with SHE
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Knowledge of CDM 2015 requirements and experience of implementing processes to ensure compliance
Understanding and use of statutary SHE standards, GxP and other regulatory guidance
Knowledge of methods, techniques and procedures within different engineering functions (mechanical, electrical, building services, civil & building and civils.
Good interpersonal skills and communicator
Good attention to detail
Able to work on own initiative
Educated to at least C&G/NVQ2 level within own trade specialism
IOSH/NEBOSH trained
Holds SMSTS or similar
