Future Build Recruitment is currently working with an esteemed client of ours, established around 10 years ago, which is a well-established main contractor based in South West London. With a commendable turnover of £20m, they specialise in luxury, high-end residential, and bespoke joinery projects throughout London. Their dynamic, professional, and creative environment fosters a culture of excellence.
The Candidate:
In light of their consistent growth, our client is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a construction background and a minimum of 2 years' experience.
Duties:
As a Buyer, your responsibilities will include:
- Sourcing and procuring materials: You will be responsible for identifying reliable suppliers and negotiating favorable pricing and delivery terms for all materials required for projects. This includes building materials, fixtures, fittings, equipment, and any specialised items necessary for luxury and bespoke projects.
- Analysing and evaluating supplier options: You will assess various suppliers, comparing prices, quality, and reliability, to make informed decisions that meet project requirements and budget constraints.
- Managing supplier relationships: Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers will be crucial. You will ensure effective communication, address any issues promptly, and collaborate on resolving challenges that may arise during the procurement process.
- Monitoring market trends: Staying updated on market trends, innovations, and pricing fluctuations within the construction industry will be essential. This knowledge will enable you to make informed recommendations to the team and ensure the company remains competitive.
- Cost estimation and budgeting: Working closely with the project team, you will provide accurate and detailed cost estimates for materials based on project plans and drawings. This includes analyzing quantities, pricing variations, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
