Construction Manager – Pharmaceutical, Worthing Based

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage the construction team across the Worthing facility
- Key accountability for facility cleanliness and maintained segregation of construction areas from manufacturing areas
- Manage a portfolio of construction activities
- Ensuring that Woods CDM responsibilities are fulfilled at site but also to assist the client as Principle Contractor
- Lead HSSE in the field and ensure the project are adhering to the HSSE requirements and accepted client work practices
- Responsible for all site cGMP regulatory compliance and site QA procedural adherence
- Assisting with contractor selection
- Lead the constructability process across all projects
- Ensure that all construction work carried out on site is to the required standard as specified in the contract
- Provide Construction input into the planning process
- Provide CDM support to the client
- Audit and inspect the construction works
- Provide overall construction resource planning across the portfolio of projects
- Ensure that maximum progress is being maintained in all areas by monitoring job schedules, construction methods, equipment availability, access and manpower levels

Qualifications:
- Time served relevant trade discipline or relevant NVQ/SVQ/HNC/HND
- Equivalent experience in a construction related position
Experience:
- Significant, demonstrable experience within a relevant construction management environment
- Construction experience within the Pharmaceutical industry +10 years EPCm or EPC
- Control of Cleanroom segregation during construction activities within operational facilities
- Exposure to working within a technical environment
- Experience of people management (construction)
Role-Specific Skills:
- Excellent working knowledge of cGMP facilities and the requirements of adjacent construction activities
- Excellent interpersonal organisational, communication and team building skills
- Excellent verbal/written communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Fully conversant with regards to discipline technical knowledge
- Proven experience of interpreting discipline documentation
- Experience of Risk Assessments (RA), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPS) and Hazard Identification Studies (HAZIDS), cGMP risk assessments and Change Control
- Ability to work with timelines / targets
- Display both good judgment and leadership qualities
- Ability to be assertive and drive culture change when required
- Ability to advise system and subsystem priorities within construction activities with a view to achieving early handover
- Ability to monitor work progress and report against the plan
- Due to the nature of the construction activities within live operating facility there will be elements of weekend working within the working time directive
