An opportunity has arisen for a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join their dynamic team. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, analysing project specifications, and providing cost-effective solutions. Your expertise in cost estimation and your ability to collaborate with various stakeholders will be essential in ensuring the successful delivery of construction projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Estimator to contribute their skills and knowledge to a range of diverse construction projects.
Position Overview - Estimator
· Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labour, equipment, and other relevant factors. Review project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to determine accurate quantities and pricing.
· Quantity Take-offs: Conduct detailed quantity take-offs from project documents and drawings. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate measurements and identification of project requirements.
· Analyse and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to determine the most cost-effective and reliable options. Collaborate with the procurement team to negotiate terms, review contractual agreements, and ensure timely procurement of materials and services.
· Apply value engineering principles to optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality. Collaborate with the design and project teams to identify value engineering opportunities and recommend cost-saving solutions.
· Analyse project costs, variances, and trends to provide accurate and timely cost reports. Prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns, cost forecasts, and pricing summaries to support project planning and decision-making.
· Manage the bid process, including preparing bid packages, reviewing subcontractor bids, and analysing pricing proposals. Collaborate with the bid team to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements.
· Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities related to project costs and timelines. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
· Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers. Provide cost-related insights, address queries, and ensure effective communication to support successful project delivery.
Position Requirements - Estimator
· Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
· Strong knowledge of cost estimation techniques, construction methodologies, and industry standards.
· Proficiency in using estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
· Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
