Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Estates and Environment – Construction team based at the Nissan Sunderland Manufacturing Plant. You will join at an exciting time as the plant embarks on its EV36Zero journey, a £1 billon flagship Electric Vehicle (EV) Hub creating a world-first, sustainable, EV manufacturing ecosystem. Bringing together electric vehicles, renewable energy and battery production, setting a blueprint for the future of the automotive industry.
You should apply if you have:
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Qualified to degree level, experienced Electrical Engineer or Electrical Building Services Engineer.
- Understanding of medium (11kV) electrical networks preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of low voltage electrical distribution systems and experience in delivery of such projects.
- Experience in the delivery of large-scale electrical generation projects (>1MW)
- Project management and specification development experience.
- Management of on-site contractor activities.
- Excellent inter-communication and report writing skills.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Outline and Responsibilities:
- Project lead from initial feasibility assessment, specification development, tendering, lifecycle cost analysis, supplier nomination and justification, physical phase delivery and internal customer handover.
- Electrical technical support for the new Microgrid HV infrastructure, shaping NMUK’s vision and future for onsite power and launch the world’s largest Private Wire Network.
- Project lead and main driver for NMUK’s large renewable energy generation expansion plans covering land PV farms, car ports, roof mounted PV, wind turbines and more.
- Management of contractors ensuring safety compliance, co-ordination and quality of work.
- Working closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure a controlled delivery of 4M Change Management process
