Main Accountabilities
To understand and operate safe systems of work such as Permit to Work (inc. HWP and CSP) and TBRA.
Assist in the development of detailed procedures or TBRA’s to be used to improve safety in the plant, for training of other personnel and standardisation of operation of the plant. Review and ‘sign off’ relevant TBRA’s every two years.
Ensure compliance with Environmental and Quality policies.
To operate all PA1 / Recovery processing plant to the required safety, environmental, quality, hygiene and output standards liaising with the Field and Maintenance Teams, Shift Manager on shift and in conjunction with the Area Manager on day work.
To monitor and control the Refining operations using the three control system (Allen Bradley, Orsi and Hewlett Packard). Liaising with the Packing and Distribution teams, Senior Process Technician, Field Operating teams, Maintenance Technicians and Utilities staff to produce the appropriate product mix, to the current operating plan, in the most energy efficient manner.
To maintain a clear and concise log of events during the shift, accurately recording production throughput using both written and keyboard skills.
To direct Field Technicians / Operators activities to ensure all available resource is utilised to maximum effect resulting in efficient plant operation.
To interrogate the process control systems using trend analysis, the alarm database and an in-depth understanding of the Refining process to identify plant deviations from the norm. Take corrective action as required and identify plant improvements making appropriate recommendations.
To modify plant parameters in response to operating conditions outside of the refining area to ensure the optimum production decisions are made with due regard to safety, cost, quality, plant capacity and plant capability.
Present and demonstrate the process control systems to internal and external customers ensuring a professional and competent Company image is portrayed.
