About the Opportunity
Jacobs is committed to playing a leadership role in the Global Energy Transition and fully focused on helping our clients towards their renewable energy ambitions. You will play a lead role on the project execution and delivery of consenting for renewable energy projects including nationally significant offshore and onshore wind, green hydrogen, solar and battery storage. You will be part of a motivated and fast-moving Energy & Power team overseeing the delivery of projects and supporting in preparing winning bids.
You will be the main focal point (internal and external) for the delivery of consents/permits both for marine and land-based parts of projects in development. Your work will support clients from land identification through to planning agreed. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders including client development & engineering teams, legal advisors and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient delivery of consent related material.
You will be expected to advise clients on key consenting risks and work with technical teams to find solutions to effectively manage these risks.
In summary you will:
Be in charge of the delivery of consent related workstreams for renewable energy projects
Lead stakeholder and client engagement
Management of internal & subcontractor teams
Financial & programme management. Manage and maintain the project consent budget, risk register and schedule.
Represent Jacobs on project and programme management aspects of our delivery.
Actively promote and demonstrate a strong safety culture in project design and working environment
Lead multi-disciplinary teams
Interface with the wider project stakeholders including engineering teams, planners, consultation leads, and lawyers.
Lead on client project communications & enhance client relationships through exceptional communication and active listening skills
Support our Sales and Growth teams to develop relationships with existing customers in the sector, identify new opportunities and build relationships with new clients.
Location
The role will ideally be based at one of Jacobs' offices in the UK or Ireland, however flexibility on location will be considered. Travel to the site may also be required alongside occasional international travel.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in renewable energy consenting and EIA with demonstrable experience of applying this knowledge in new and challenging projects
- Demonstrable Project Management experience for complex EIA and Consenting Projects
- A degree qualification in a relevant subject
- Deep Familiarity with DCO, Town and Country Planning Act and/or Irish Planning system
- Knowledge and experience of energy and power sector including electrical transmission, onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery storage, hydrogen and other renewable energy
- Experience of managing large renewables projects from early conception, through consents
- Experience of developing and managing bids for consenting projects
- Experience working with renewable energy developers / owners
- Prior experience of leading project teams and influencing senior stakeholders would be beneficial
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills preferred
