The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a Conference and Banqueting Manager to join the team at the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa. The role is an operational role and will require a hands on approach in providing an exceptional experience for our guests both prior to and on the day of their event.

The successful candidate will;

  • Seamlessly manage and organise conferences and banqueting events alongside the Food Beverage Team and assisted by Senior Management where required.
  • Effectively lead the department and team members.
  • Ensure all banqueting team members receive appropriate training, coaching and development to provide effective and efficient service to our guests.
  • Control stock to ensure the efficient running of all bars services within the Conference and Banqueting department.
  • Ensure provision of excellent standards of service.
  • Pre-empt necessary arrangements prior to large events and conferences in terms of stock availability etc.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to maintain an effective operation and ensure guest expectations are met and/or exceeded.
  • Ensure the resorts conference and banqueting areas fixtures and equipment are properly maintained and presented with the highest standards of care.
  • Assist with the recruitment, selection and utilisation of the banqueting team to achieve optimum use of resources in line with business needs.
  • Carry out duty management responsibilities regularly and as required.

What we are looking for

  • 2 years previous experience at Assistant Manager level within a Food Beverage department and keen to progress to the next step.
  • Previous experience within a hotel environment.
  • Guest focus approach.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure within a team and as the leader of that team.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High standards of attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety and HACCAP legislation.
