Job description
The role of the Condition Monitoring Engineer is to operate and develop Condition Monitoring programs for John Crane clients. The role will involve Condition Monitoring data collection, analysis, and reporting.
In this role, you will be part of John Crane Asset Management Solutions (JCAMS). the John Crane Centre of Excellence for Maintenance Consultancy and Condition Monitoring.
The role is based on our client’s site in Ellesmere Port, the core hours are Monday to Friday up to 16:00 in addition to an on-call rota shared with the team. A vehicle is included in the contract.
Duties & Responsibilities
- To operate and develop Condition Monitoring programs for John Crane clients.
- To continuously improve the effectiveness of condition monitoring programs, through a defined review process in conjunction with the CM team leader.
- To conduct analysis of routine vibration data.
- To report Vibration and Oil Analysis results and associated corrective maintenance recommendations.
- To act as the client interface for the on site delivery of Condition Monitoring services.
- To conduct routine Condition Monitoring surveys at our clients’ premises.
- Mentoring of clients in basic Condition Monitoring techniques.
- To conduct periodic on-site Pump Performance Testing and Reporting.
- To conduct periodic thermography surveys
- To conduct ad-hoc specialist vibration analysis and equipment troubleshooting.
- Work within the requirements of the Integrated Management System.
The Individual
- Experienced and qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Experience with ISO 18436-2 Vibration Analysis Category 2 is preferred
- Experience with ISO 18436-7 Thermography Category 1 preferred
- Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of rotating and reciprocating machinery in an industrial environment would be an advantage
- Well-developed aural, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in a team working environment.
- Competence in the application of Condition Monitoring techniques, utilising Vibration Monitoring, Thermography, Lube Oil Analysis, Rotating Equipment Performance Testing
