Pixelynx is a new music and gaming venture that has been launched by deadmau5 and Richie Hawtin. We are building a music metaverse that makes it easy for any artist, label or events to launch their own interactive experiences and monetise them through Digital Collectables (NFTs)

We are looking for a Concept Character Artist to join us in bringing the world of the music metaverse to life. Working closely with the creative team you will be conceptualising characters and creatures who inhabit the world we are building, ensuring they fit the world around them and also bring something unique to the table. You will be involved with early sketches and artwork, moving forward to awesome action shots and also creating character rotations.

This role is fully remote and open to contracting / freelance opportunities only. #LI-Remote

Job Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the creative team to master the visual style of our world
• Create concepts of believable characters and creatures
• Understand the world building of our game and the environments within
• Oversee and take ownership of design projects, from conception to delivery
• Working with people across multiple disciplines including production, narrative and design
• Work with the Art Director and follow their visual direction while adding your own creative input
• Attend creative brainstorms, team meetings and contribute ideas
• Deliver accurate inspirational and rotational concepts with great attention to detail

Requirements

• 3+ years creative experience as a Concept and/or Character Artist, AAA video game experience is preferred
• Strong presentation experience to pitch your work
• Strong drawing and conceptualisation skills with
• Embrace challenges and new methods of thinking
• You have experience with real-time 3D packages such as Unreal
• Understanding of human anatomy and posing characters, conceptualising characters in awesome action poses as well as character rotations
• Experience with Maya/Max, Z-Brush, Photoshop and Blender is preferred but not essential
• Ability to collaborate with multiple teams in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
• An interest and understanding of Web3 and the future of the metaverse is preferred
• A strong portfolio of illustrating your skills as a Concept Character Artist
• Any interest or experience in prompting AI art is preferred
