About Us:
We are one of the largest providers of Computing Education in the UK. Our mission is to deliver life skills to the next generation of digital citizens. Digital skills are more than being able to code and use a computer. They extend to safe usage, the digital opportunity and digital resilience. We believe that young people should be educated in all these digital skills. Learners’ graduate from our workshops knowing the importance of coding and digital skills. They learn what they can achieve through coding and computing. Just as importantly, they have fun and make friends along the way, and secure extra skills which will enhance their future potential for job opportunities, as we approach a massive move into a digital age, where 80 percent of jobs will need coding and digital skills going forward, and this cannot be ignored.
The role is a very relaxed and rewarding role and would suit a Trainee Teacher, Teaching Assistant, Trainee Teaching assistant, students studying towards early years care qualifications, computing students and any student that would like to strengthen their CV by gaining experience of working with children. The role can be ongoing too.
It would also suit anyone passionate about helping children to learn the early stages of coding. T-Level students are also welcome, and this is a brilliant opportunity to gain experience in a work environment for young people, but older applicants are also welcome to apply.
The work is available from September onwards and full training will be given to the successful applicants to enable them to deliver our workshops, you do not need extensive prior knowledge in this area, and you don't have to be a coder/programmer by trade.
The ideal candidate should have:
- An interest in teaching
- An interest in technology
- A positive attitude towards helping young people succeed through teamwork and confidence building.
- You will need to be a good communicator, be organised and punctual.
- Access to own transport would be advantageous.
We are passionate about inspiring young people to use and engage with digital technology for positive benefits helping them to understand the opportunities that computational thinking and skills represent.
We are positive role models for the children we teach, giving them safe well-structured sessions (all sessions are planned for you) to explore learning opportunities. we have Jam Coding Academy with over 300 hours of resources and materials to help you deliver sessions and we provide support for all members of the team provided by our support team, who coaches can call at any time to get the help and assistance you need to get you to the level you need to achieve and deliver sessions.
The hours listed are available from September 2023, and require candidates (20 minutes either side of start end time). We are a rapidly growing company and the opportunity to work additional hours during school holidays is also there if available.
We will expect all candidates to be DBS checked, and we provide safeguarding and all necessary training for all applicants we offer a position to.
