HR Policy and Compliance Senior Advisor
We’re excited to be recruiting on behalf of Tri-Force (BCH – Beds/ Cambs /Herts Police).
They’re looking for a HR Policy and Compliance Senior Advisor to join the HR Policy and Compliance Team. This small team has responsibility for overseeing the development and creation of all HR Policies and guidance documents for BCH. They also own the consultation process for any new or existing policy changes. The team is responsible for maximising the use of HR systems to create digitally enabled documents, easy for the customer to access and read.
The role:
The HR Policy and Compliance Senior Advisor will be responsible for:
- Providing expert advice and guidance to other HR teams to ensure appropriate policy design and creation.
- Working in partnership with colleagues within HR to support them in writing policy and ensuring a consistence approach.
- The ownership of the policy review process ensuring all polices are up to date and legally compliant.
A key part of the role is building effective working relationships with stake holders, staff associations and HR colleagues to ensure the policy consultation process is thorough and managed effectively.
What will I need…?
Key skills, knowledge, and experience required:
- Must have lived in the UK for the last 5 years with permanent UK residency (due to the level of vetting required for the role)
- Level 5 Associate member of CIPD or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of current employment law and future changes in order to ensure policy documentation is accurate and reliable.
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret police regulations.
- Proven ability to write effective, easy to follow, clear and accurate policy documentation and supporting guidance.
- Knowledge of HR systems and the ability to use these effectively to support the delivery of policy documentation.
- Proven ability to quickly build effective relationships and work with people of all levels of organisation.
- Ability to work in a complex and varied environment.
Desirables:
- Knowledge of Police regulations, Accessibility regulations or Microsoft SharePoint will be highly advantageous

Hours: Monday to Friday – Full time - 37 hours per week (flexible) - although part time/compressed/job share would be considered
Starting salary: £37,074 – 39,942 per annum
Location: Although the office is located at Welwyn Garden City (contractual base) – This role, will involve a mixture of remote working and office-based work from sites across the BCH estate.
