The Internal Audit and Compliance team at Calor Gas is looking to recruit an engaging and proactive Data Privacy Officer.
As the Privacy Officer for Calor GB, you would deal with customer and employee queries and access requests, developing and maintaining a Privacy Framework that aligns to the company’s key legislative and regulatory obligations identifying key areas of improvement.
You would ensure “privacy by design” in all system, process, and organisational changes within Calor GB.
As the privacy expert for the organisation, you will bring best practice from the SHVe group and other external resources, managing relationships with the Calor Compliance Officer, SHVe Compliance Officer and the Information Commissioners Office in GB when required.
Your Responsibilities:
- Act as the Privacy Officer of Calor GB, in the requirements of GDPR and the need to:
a) Respond to Data Subject Access Requests in a robust and timely manner.
b) Ensure effective and proportionate measures are in place to identify and protect personal information.
c) Link in with various projects and change mandates to ensure Privacy is considered before changes are implemented.
- Support the development and delivery of data protection and privacy training and awareness programs for the company and our colleagues, consistent with the scope of the established Privacy Framework.
- Develop and maintain business relations with the Calor GB managers and all levels of the organisation, particularly Internal Audit, Legal, Finance & the QSHE team.
- Ensure a framework of data and privacy policies are in place, managed, updated, and adhered to by the organisation.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments for all changes implemented within Calor GB
- Develop best practice solutions in Data and Privacy by bringing in examples of excellence from within the SHV Group and from third parties.
- Liaise with Calor Compliance Manager and SHV compliance team on all aspects of Privacy.
- Interface with the Information Commissioners Office in the UK when required.
- Lead investigation into any data/privacy breaches within Calor and liaise with SHV and the ICO when required.
- Act as an expert advisor on all privacy matters to the Calor GB business.
We would like you to have/be:
- Expert in Data Protection and GDPR regulation & awareness of other areas of legislation/regulation, including:
Third Party Due Diligence
Anti Bribery and Corruption
Conflicts of Interests
Legal Controls, processes, and risks
- Educated to degree level.
- Experience of working in similar roles that span both compliance and risk.
- Attention to detail with the ability to work with large amounts of data.
- Ability to influence others to comply with defined standards and requirements of new operating procedures.
- Process orientated.
- Understanding/ability to both promote and support the need for change.
- Experience of communicating with stakeholders at all levels in the organisation and including auditors and external regulators.
