Payroll Officer
VES are recruiting for a Payroll Officer to work at our Merthyr Tydfil office. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about the industry and is excited to grow with the company.
VES is an established provider of temporary staff to schools across South Wales, founded in 2009, we have quickly become the go to agency for schools across South Wales looking to fill their vacancies with experienced and inspiring teaching staff.
Job Description
The Payroll Officer will be responsible for processing payroll for all employees in Merthyr Tydfil. This includes processing payroll on a weekly basis for all Valley Education Services employees. This position will also be responsible for processing weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for the company’s Merthyr Tydfil locations.
Responsibilities
· Prepare and process weekly payroll for 500 employees
· Prepare and process monthly payroll for office staff
· Liaise with Account Managers to ensure all bookings on the system are correct
· Liaise with Accounting to reconcile systems and invoicing
· Liaise, when necessary, with pension and system providers
· Accurate processing using Sage 50 Payroll, issuing payslips and pay advice
· Accurate processing of pension
· Ensure the system is updated to meet statutory requirements and that year end functions are carried out, ensuring all comply with regulations
· Respond to payroll queries
· Enter new employee data into system
Requirements:
· Payroll experience and knowledge required
· Hands on experience with Sage Payroll or equivalent
· Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Skills:
· Great time-management skills
· Strong math skills and ability to spot numerical errors
· Work effectively within a team
· Excellent communication skills
Hours: 37.5 hours (part time considered depending on experience)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Salary: £28,000.00 per year
