The Payroll Officer is responsible for all of the payroll processes and ensuring the timely and accurate administration of employee compensation.
Duties & Responsibilities for this Payroll Officer position :
- Ensure timesheets are collected daily, weekly, or monthly from employees.
- Calculating bonuses and allowances based on established guidelines.
- Utilizing payroll software to prepare employees’ compensation by the end of each month.
- Schedule bank payments or directly hand out pay checks to employees.
- Distributing payment statements and collecting signed receipts, whether in digital or paper format.
- Leading a small team of 3 people
- Generating reports on payroll expenses for internal use.
- Entering new employees’ data, such as bank accounts and tax identification numbers, into internal databases.
- Addressing employee inquiries related to compensation, benefits, taxes, and insurance deductions.
To be successful in this Payroll Officer position:
- Proven 3 year of experience as a Payroll Officer, Payroll Clerk, or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and accounting software would be desirable.
- Strong mathematical skills with a keen eye for identifying numerical errors.
- Good knowledge of labour legislation and its application in payroll processes.
- Effective time-management skills to meet payroll deadlines.
- Leadership or management experience
