About the Role
Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Reading, London, Belfast or Dublin
Salary: £32,600 - £48,800 + performance related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

We're looking for a Company Secretarial Assistant to join our Company Secretarial Team.
The role provides a development path with involvement in a variety of governance and compliance projects, along with support to complete a formal qualification in Company Secretarial/Governance via the Chartered Governance Institute.
Some of your main accountabilities will include:
- Assisting with corporate governance projects required to support the objectives of the Company Secretarial Team. This includes projects such as the annual report & annual general meeting.
- Assisting with tasks related to the management of SSE Entities. This will include preparation and filing of statutory forms and the maintenance of company books and records via Diligent Entities.
- Providing effective meeting support to SSE Group Committees as required, including the drafting and the timely issuance of minutes and actions.
- Supporting a variety of corporate projects. For example, supporting SSE's business activities relating to M&A (such as due diligence requests, the setup of new entities, and corporate restructuring).
- Filing, archiving and general administrative duties and supporting the team with any ad-hoc duties as required.

You'll be someone who can work on your own initiative and build and maintain relationships with different levels of stakeholders.
To be considered for this role, we’d love you be/have:
- A qualified or part qualified chartered secretary via the Chartered Governance Institute qualification programme for UK or Ireland.
- Some work experience in a relevant role such working on corporate, governance, and compliance projects concerning Company Secretarial issues.
- Knowledge of the Companies Act 2006 as well as excellent knowledge of managing and operating Diligent Entities/GEMS.
- Excellent inter-personal skills and a flexible and adaptive approach to work.
- An inquisitive nature which is inclined to investigate, identify issues, and solve problems.
