Job description
Would you love a career in education that is within a fun environment and not just confined to a classroom? No prior experience needed. We will train you!
You will join us as a Community Teaching Assistant in Abingdon. You'll be joining a great team, working 32.5 hours a week, 39 weeks a year. You'll be working with learners from either 9.00 am to 3 pm or 9.30 am to 3.30 pm each day, with an additional half-hour of administration time, afterwards to record the learning.
About The role
As a Community Teaching Assistant, you'll teach some amazing people, aged between 16 and 25 with learning difficulties or autism. This will not always be confined to the classroom. The learning will be out in the community and learning at our base, depending on the needs of the young person. Our friendly team aim to deliver personalised education programmes to the learners we're working with, to teach what is important for the individual: key life skills and appropriate lessons in literacy, numeracy and ICT.
Your ability to drive unlocks the opportunities for people to do the things they really enjoy. So you must be a driver with a manual license. Don't worry! You won't be racing between appointments.
We will provide you with an comprehensive training programme, and have dedicated on-site support from your Team Coordinator.
Every day is different but one thing is the same: the achievement you will feel as you watch young people blossom into adulthood.
Come and add your chapter to our success stories!
