Are you a dynamic, hardworking, and innovative Clinical sister/ charge nurse/ Community staff nurse? We are currently offering permanent contracts and funding for course fees, in preparation for taking on a key role in delivering the community health agenda. We have an exciting opportunity for Clinical sisters/ charge nurses and staff nurses who have an interest in Community Nursing to join the organization as Clinical sister Specialist Practice District Nurse Student. Ideally you need to have 3 years’ experience in community nursing and view your future as a developing the future for District Nurse.
BSc (Hons) Specialist Community Practice (District Nursing) is a professional practice programme for registered adult nurses working in the community. The course can be accessed at either BSc or MSc level and is 50% theory and 50% practice over 52 weeks at the University of Wolverhampton. Once you have completed the honours programme, you will be eligible to claim the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) specialist practitioner qualification in District Nursing. The course runs for one academic year: please note we cannot accept part-time applications for this post due to the academic commitment required.
You will be assigned a Community Nursing Team and will have support from a community practice teacher and personal tutor from the University. On completion of the course we will support your transition into a substantive post within Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.
You must hold a full UK Driving License and have use of a car for work purposes. If you are successful at interview you will still need to apply to the University for a place on the programme.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished professional, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills, to act as a role model and work closely with services across secondary care to continually improve care pathways for patients, their carer’s and families.
They will achieve all academic requirements and competencies for the Community Specialist Practitioner course.
