Position Summary:
The Specialist/ Manager, Corporate Communications & Community Engagement is responsible for generating press and owned channel content, driving campaigns from planning through execution, working with executives, and handling proactive and reactive media relations in conjunction with external agency. This role will support relationships with external stakeholders including advocates, influencers, and journalists.
Specific Duties:
- Develop press releases, blogs, social media content, articles and other communications focusing on various milestones and initiatives for the Company to establish thought leadership and influence stakeholders.
- Develop content and structure and maintain software for internal and external digital assets including intranet, website, social media.
- Continuously monitor competitors, partners, and local, national, and international media, identifying opportunities to drive earned, paid and owned content through social and traditional media.
- Measure results and performance/impact of initiatives, including social media and media relations efforts.
- Support the management of external Public Relations (PR) agency and vendor relationships, contracts, and budgets.
- Acts as the Company's brand ambassador, ensuring all materials adhere to brand guidelines.
- Ensure proper corporate review and approval of all corporate communication assets.
- Develop culture content on career networking sites like Linked, Indeed and Glassdoor.
- Manage intranet including content, structure and function as well as identifying areas of improvement and executing upgrades/implementations of new applications.
- Serve as an experienced editor for all internal publications.
- Lead opportunities for Braeburn employees to interact with and support advocacy organizations, patient communities, and other social responsibility organizations.
- Plan and execute company events that drive engagement.
Skills:
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills with exceptional attention to detail. Writing samples may be requested.
- Advanced proficiency with social media platforms, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and additional channels.
- Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- A high degree of personal motivation, a desire to make an immediate contribution, and possession of a distinct sense of urgency.
- Comfort in developing presentations for project teams and stakeholders and working cross-functionally.
- Proven high levels of initiative, innovation, and collaboration; effectively works across culturally diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate through ambiguity and approach risks and issues through problem-solving.
- Positive attitude and demonstrated flexibility in re-prioritizing and executing program milestones.
Education/ Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related field preferred.
- Communications or Public Relations experience (2+ for Specialist, 4+ Manager).
- Life Sciences industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and other collaboration tools.
- Working knowledge of the social media landscape with experience creating compelling social content.
