Kirklees Community Hubs are a collaborative of schools and their partners working together to develop a range of services and support for children, families and the wider community.
Community Hub Coordinators are matrix managed: work will be directed locally by members of each Community Hubs Senior Leadership Team to meet the needs of each Community Hub, but the employment terms and conditions will be held by Kirklees Council.
We are looking to for a Community Hub Coordinator to support the development of the Slaithwaite Community Hub. You will be joining an experienced team, made up of mainly council and school staff, already working within the Hub.
This is an exciting time to be joining Community Hubs and we hope to attract people with a wide variety of skills and experiences who all have a passion for improving outcomes, working with children, families and communities.
The key focus of the work
- Ensure that each Hub is well developed and is capable of acting as the vehicle for developing a range of services and support with children, families and the wider community
- Ensure that all support within a Hub and the Hub itself is well organised. This includes staff, volunteers and children and families themselves
- Ensure that the skills, expertise and knowledge held by children, families and communities themselves is at the forefront of not only maintaining support for local people but is acknowledged as vital in the design and delivery of services within the Hub
- Ensuring provision and coordination of all year round activity. Candidates are not necessarily expected to deliver all year round activity themselves but to ensure that provision is well organised both in and out of term time
- Ensure clear communication with children, families and the community about what’s on offer, where to get support and how to become involved
We will be seeking to appoint people who have the experience and skills outlined in the Job Profile, we encourage candidates to apply if they:
- Can work effectively in partnership
- Can bring together collective effort
- Believe that people have existing strengths, skills and experience
You will need to travel to various locations in order to carry out the duties of a Community Hub Coordinator. You should be in possession of a full and valid driving licence and it is expected that you will either use a council vehicle or your own car (exceptions may be made for disabled applicants).
What can we offer?
- Friendly and supportive team environment
- Ongoing training and career development
- Excellent pension scheme
- A range of family friendly policies, including flexible working and working from home
- We offer a wide range of well-being initiatives including a cycle to work scheme and discounted KAL membership
