We have an exciting opportunity to work as a key member of our friendly team of Dietitians in theWest Dorset Integrated Acute & Community DietitiansServicebased at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester (DCH).
We providecommunity services to north and west Dorset and are recruiting a Band 6 Community Dietitian as a permanent member of our supportive team. Full-time, part-time and flexible working are considered. You will be a vital resource to the area, providing scheduled clinics, patient/staff education sessions and community hospital inpatient services as well as responding creatively to ad-hoc requests, recommending service improvements, representing the Department and promoting the Profession; all with patients as the priority.
You will be a key member of the department that provides a wide range of dietetic services across both the acute and community settings. We are pushing the boundaries of virtual service delivery, using technology to creatively deliver our services . Although you will often be lone-working (as is usual for a Community role), you are part of a Dietetic Department of 30 dietetic, nurse and admin staff based at DCH and you will have easy access to them for peer and senior support. You will also build professional relationships with your community colleagues in GP surgeries, and community hospitals.
You will have regular support from your line manager, who will help you develop your skills. We encourage and prioritise a full programme of CPD.
As an autonomous HCPC registered Dietitian, to provide evidence-based Dietetic Services to patients of Dorset CCG in a community setting.
Deliver education and training on nutrition-related topics to a range of health and care professionals, students, and patients.
Act as a source of expertise in nutrition and diet therapy, advising medical staff and other health professionals.
Act as the lead for one or more clinical specialties (e.g. gastroenterology, cancer, nutrition support) ensuring skills are maintained through training and CPD opportunities.
Work as part of the overall dietetics team in the promotion of a quality and patient-focused service and development of the profession.
Act as the primary resource and point of dietetic expertise regarding nutrition for members of the primary care team within the area covered.
Work across community locations, including domiciliary visits, care homes and community hospitals
Work flexibly, across multiple office workspaces and from home using telephone and various digital platforms to deliver services safely in compliance with evolving social distancing guidance
Engage with other service providers to achieve integrated working.
Independently manage the allocated workload, alerting the Line Manager to development opportunities, inefficiencies, or problems.
