Job description
Forest Green Rovers are looking for Community Coaches to join on a casual contract.
The successful candidates will need to be able to deliver a range of active sessions, such as coaching football-based activities on our soccer camps and in community settings such as Youth Clubs, PL Kick's sessions, encourage fundamental movement in Wildcats sessions and supporting occasional after school and curriculum-based classroom sessions.
New coaches will be accountable for the welfare of children and vulnerable adults under their responsibility, in line with the Trust’s Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adult Policies.
We also expect individuals to embrace equality, diversity, and inclusivity to facilitate a consistent, co-ordinated, and embedded approach to fairness and opportunity across the Trust.
The role may require you to be available on matchdays, which are typically every other Saturday or a weekday evening and will involve evening sessions.
Essential
- Knowledge of the FA Coaching Pathway and a minimum of a Level 1 football coaching badge
- Experience of working or volunteering within either school, club, or community sporting settings
- Ability to plan, deliver & evaluate coaching sessions
- Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Enhanced CRB Certificate or Current FA DBS Clearance
- FA Safeguarding & Emergency aid/ BFAS Qualifications
- Ability to work within a team effectively & efficiently and buy-in to the environmental ethos
- Computer Literate
Desirable
- Experience of working in a charity or community organisation
- Mentoring other staff through coaching/teaching
- Knowledge of the national curriculum for children aged 5-11 years and/or 11-16 years
- Knowledge and understanding of the charity, voluntary and community sector
- A desire to pursue a career in the football industry and be a committed, enthusiastic, and highly motivated, showing a passion for promoting participation and love for the sport
- Experience with Quality Assurance Reporting platforms
- Experience facilitating cup, camps, and curriculum programmes
- Working with socially excluded young people and vulnerable adults
- Teaching Qualification, Level 2 Coaching Award or UEFA B license
- Level 2 or 3 Supporting PE and school sport (or equivalent)
- Clean Driver’s License
