About us

Established in Deeping St James in 2016, Lily Mae Home Care (LMHC) is a leading provider of home care services across Lincolnshire, Rutland, Nottinghamshire,Norfolk. We have grown since 2016 to provide care for over 120 Service Users per annum, across over 5 counties nationally.

Sarah Tyrrell, our registered manager and Co-owner at Lily Mae Home Care (LMHC), is a seasoned professional who embodies the spirit of our care services. She's been with LMHC since our inception in May 2016, bringing to the team an impressive eleven years of experience in a range of care settings.

Sarah’s experience

Sarah's experience in the care sector is rich and varied. She began her career as a Health Care Assistant in the community, where she developed a passion for helping people and acquired valuable frontline experience. This role allowed her to understand first-hand the challenges and rewards of providing care to a diverse group of individuals with unique needs.

Later, Sarah advanced to a role in residential care. Here she deepened her understanding of the complex demands of providing full-time care for those unable to live independently. This experience was pivotal in honing her management skills, and ultimately she became a Registered Manager, a position that equipped her with the necessary skills and expertise to lead our organization at LMHC.

During her journey, Sarah has gained a variety of key qualifications which solidify her ability to deliver and manage high-quality care. She holds Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (England) (QCF), a qualification that demonstrates her understanding of the complex requirements and ethical considerations of leading a care service. Her training also includes Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults, reflecting her competence in ensuring the safety and protection of all service users.

In terms of specific training, Sarah has completed rigorous courses in Dementia Care, reflecting our commitment to providing specialized care for our service users living with dementia. She has also undergone training in End of Life Care, providing her with the skills and sensitivity needed to support individuals and their families during this challenging period.

What truly sets Sarah apart is her commitment to the continuous development of our care staff. Recognizing the value of high-quality training, she obtained her trainer and assessor qualifications, becoming an in-house assessor for LMHC. This enables her to conduct robust training programs and assessments that ensure all our care staff not only meet but exceed industry standards. All our care staff are put through their level 2 qualifications in both care and dementia care under Sarah's guidance, ensuring they have the foundational skills and knowledge to deliver person-centred care. This also reflects LMHC's belief in promoting from within and providing pathways for career progression for all our staff.

Continued development

To maintain LMHC's high standards, Sarah regularly attends industry seminars, workshops, and continues professional development courses. This keeps her up to date with the latest advancements and best practices in care, ensuring that LMHC always remains at the forefront of service provision.

With Sarah at the helm, you can be confident in the quality of care that LMHC delivers. Her depth of experience, wealth of qualifications, and commitment to staff development ensure that we consistently provide a service that meets the needs of our users while upholding the highest standards of care.

Wider support

Prior to founding LMHC, our Directors represented some of the UK’s largest care organisations, bringing the experience of managing portfolios more than £20 million for organisations including:

In addition to Sarah's expert leadership, the LMHC team is further strengthened by the experience and dedication of co-founder Alex Ozkan. Alex's journey through the care sector has been equally impressive, beginning seven years ago when he started as a Health Care Assistant in the community. His passion for person-centred care and his unwavering positive attitude propelled him quickly through the ranks.

Before co-founding LMHC, Alex held significant roles in some of the UK’s largest care organisations, including Care UK and HalesCare. In these positions, he managed portfolios worth more than £20 million, demonstrating his ability to successfully oversee large-scale operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient care services. This vast experience has enabled him with exceptional insights into the operational, financial, and regulatory aspects of the care sector.

Alex’s comprehensive management experience covers various facilities such as extra care, domiciliary, and nursing services. He has a firm grasp of the unique requirements and challenges associated with each of these service types, equipping him with the versatility needed to lead LMHC's diverse service offerings.

His strategic leadership has been integral to our ability to extend our reach to more service users. Under his stewardship, we have seen consistent growth, while maintaining our commitment to providing personalized, high-quality care.

Moreover, Alex's approach to care is highly relational. His belief in the importance of person-centred care is reflected in the way he leads LMHC, promoting an ethos that sees our service users as individuals with unique needs and preferences. This approach is ingrained in all our services and forms the backbone of our care delivery.

Combining Sarah’s frontline care experience and commitment to staff development with Alex’s strategic acumen and operational expertise, LMHC is led by a duo that is not only deeply experienced but is also passionately committed to delivering exceptional care.
