Job Purpose
To lead, manage and coordinate the School of Education’s external and internal communications, major events and conferences, and other related external and internal engagement activities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead the development and delivery of School communications and engagement strategies, plans, policies and plans.
2. Manage and support the School’s external communications activities with prospective students, academics, policy-makers, practitioners, and the public, including preparing media and publicity materials.
3. Manage and support the School’s internal communications activities with students and staff, including the production of newsletters and other related content.
4. Liaise with the University’s Communications & Public Affairs Office to develop and maintain the School’s external and internal profile and reputation.
5. Liaise with the Deputy PGT Programmes Manager to work with the University’s Development & Alumni Office specifically around the School’s engagement and communication with Alumni.
6. Develop, manage and maintain the School’s web presence, serving as the School’s principal web editor.
7. Manage and maintain the School’s social media presence, ensuring social media presence is at the forefront of social media developments and trends.
8. Support and develop the School’s network of active web editors.
9. Manage the planning and delivery of major School conferences, seminars and other similar events.
10. Advise and support academic staff within the School to promote and disseminate their research and scholarship to a variety of academic and non-academic audiences and stakeholders.
11. Supervise interns assigned to support the Schools’ communications and engagement activities.

A1 HND, VQ 3/4, Higher or equivalent, preferably in the social sciences or arts.

Terms and Conditions
Salary will be Grade 6, £30,502 - £34,308 per annum.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and open ended.
