Title: Head of Communications - Performance Excellence

Purpose of Role:
You'll be responsible for the Performance Excellence Communications workstream within the overall Change & Engagement workstream, driving and delivering strategic and business critical internal communications to support change management and engagement within a complex and global multi-functional transformation.
Working closely with the Head of Change and Engagement, this role will collaborate with stakeholders across the programme to devise and deliver an impactful , effective and strategic communications programme over multiple years.

  • Communications Strategy
Providing communications expertise and advice to the Performance Excellence programme, delivering a holistic change communications strategy to support our people through a global multi-functional transformation. Accountable to the Head of Change and Engagement, you'll ensure regular reporting of the communication workstream within the TMO Governance framework; identifying deliverables, key milestones, risks/issues and changes.
  • Creative content creation
Responsible for the production of engaging and well written content in multiple formats and multiple languages. Incorporating story-telling, briefings and events with high editorial and design standards to represent a compelling and impactful image of the programme to key target audiences. You'll also ensure that programme communications are aligned with We are Weir and presented and delivered consistently with Corporate Communications standards and processes.
  • Stakeholder Management
Demonstrating effective, strategic networking skills to develop relationships with key stakeholders, you will keep key programme sponsors up to date with
communications plans, listening and responding to feedback to ensure
continuous improvement. You'll engage with other workstreams and Functional Transformation leaders to understand and translate their communication needs as part of the change, engagement and communications strategy.
  • Communications lead
Responsible for articulating a key narrative and defining strategic messaging, you will lead the creation of key communications, ensuring all communications are consistent and on message. · Accountability for the effectiveness and measurement of communications to drive continuous improvement and ensure activity meets the needs of key audiences.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
  • A proven track record of leading change communications in a multi-year global, organisation-wide business transformation, devising and executing communications plans
  • Strong strategic and operational corporate communications planning skills
  • Experience of devising and implementing systems for evaluating the effectiveness of communications
  • Commercially aware and outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to develop strong relationships with colleagues and external partners. You'll have excellent influencing and facilitation skills and be able to positively challenge and understand accountability
  • Resilient with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied and complex workload, balancing and prioritising competing priorities and deadlines.
