- Work closely with faculty, staff, and students in the creation and execution of initiatives that promote the department’s community outreach, research, and academic programs.
- Along with creating and producing high-quality multimedia content, (including videos, podcasts, and online journal articles), such initiatives may entail coordinating with other university departments and external partners to develop cross-functional multimedia initiatives and partnerships.
- Projects may involve filming, editing, and production, as well as managing resources and timelines to ensure timely delivery.
- Manage the department’s multimedia channels, including social media accounts and website, and ensure all content is up-to-date, relevant, and engaging.
- Collaborate with College of Liberal Arts staff associated with communication strategies to maximize reach of Department of History
- Stay up-to-date with trends and best practices in multimedia content creation and advise the department on emerging opportunities and metrics.
- Monitor and analyze multimedia performance metrics, including engagement rates, reach and impact and use insights to improve content and strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in History, Journalism, Communications, English or a related field.
- One-two years of relevant experience in multimedia content creation, supported by a portfolio. Proficiency in video-editing and audio-editing software.
- Strong project management skills.
- Master’s degree in Public History, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in creating high-quality video and audio production.
- Demonstrated experience in online journal editing and publishing.
- Previous experience in higher education.
- Experience working with Adobe products (including After Effects, Premiere, Audition, and InDesign)
May work around standard office conditions
