Job description

We are looking for a Marketing Communications Coordinator to join ‘The Oxford Collection’; a small, privately owned group of two luxury 5* hotels and three restaurants that consists of the Old Bank Hotel, Old Parsonage Hotel, Parsonage Grill, Gees Restaurant & Bar, and Quod Restaurant & Bar. Having very recently undergone a complete refurbishment programme, we have 78 bedrooms across two iconic properties in central Oxford, with unrivalled views across the city’s beautiful skyline, and in 2022 expanded our flagship standalone restaurant Gees with a new private dining space.

In this role, you will lead on all long-form content marketing. You will be able to create inspirational and informative content to meet revenue objectives of rooms, food, and beverage and create and strengthen the brand messaging, including that of the employer brand.

You will be responsible for creating long-form content including email marketing campaigns, blog and press content in collaboration with the content team and Brand Manager, to promote the marketing strategy across The Oxford Collection. The key functional areas of this role entail email marketing, press pitches and request handling, long-form copywriting for news, press releases, and blog content and general associated marketing administration and reporting.

In this collaborative role, you will be working alongside the Brand Manager as well as external consultants, agencies, and other internal teams. The role is designed to support and assist in developing the marketing strategy in line with the wider business strategy set by the Director of Operations and Proprietor.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, write and release an appropriate mixture of email marketing campaigns
  • Plan, write and release inspirational, informative, and engaging blog content each month
  • Coordinate all PR, influencer and media enquiries; and arrange interviews, statements, etc.
  • Write and deliver press releases and other communications such as articles, whitepapers, listicles, notices, and company announcements, etc.
  • Secure free and sponsored press editorials & regularly engage with the media
  • Plan and execute promotional events and presentations using our own hospitality resources
  • Identify, prepare, and coordinate public speaking engagements for relevant spokespersons
  • Maintain affiliate listings online and source backlink opportunities
  • Explore local events and opportunities with local community partners and pursue beneficial collaborations/partnerships
  • Oversee creation and promotion of brand competitions
  • Research annual industry awards and prepare and execute applications for awards
  • Act as a brand ambassador and guardian for all identities belonging to The Oxford Collection
  • Coordinate with marketing and design teams to illustrate articles, create graphics and edit photos
  • Report on blog, email marketing, and PR & Comms marketing efforts monthly
  • Support the updating of all brand websites where applicable

Marketing Communications Coordinator - Person Specification:

  • Degree in Marketing, PR, Journalism, or a related field would be beneficial
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Proven experience in a Hotel Marketing and/or PR and Communications / Email Marketing / Copywriting position, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle hotel brand
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and proven experience in producing digital content and digital best practice, preferably within the luxury hospitality sector
  • Knowledge and experience in running digital marketing campaigns
  • Fluent in written and spoken English with a high level of written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and develop relationships with key stakeholders
  • Experience and knowledge in copywriting, proofreading, and editing
  • Data Analysis and interpretation experience
  • Knowledge of luxury consumer behaviour and the luxury marketing sector
  • Ability to pitch to media, and creativity in securing coverage and buzz with traditional outlets
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, work in a fast-paced environment and have high-level attention to detail
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM and Google Analytics
  • Proactive with the ability to work on own initiative and think both creatively and strategically
  • Understanding of social media and experience working with bloggers/influencers
  • Networking and relationship management skills
  • Experience in developing and producing full-year marketing and communication plans
  • Be comfortable working in a number of environments, including from home

We offer a full-time position across a 35-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with a salary up to £35,000 per annum depending on experience.
