Communications Assistant – Fixed Term for 2 years
We’re looking for an experienced communications professional to join our team - someone that’s passionate about communications, is creative and innovative in their approach, and who places a firm focus on demonstrating how it makes a real difference.
As a Communications Assistant, you’ll join a talented, hard-working and award-winning team, and well-established corporate communications service to enhance our internal and external communications capacity.
You will be responsible for a range of communications duties, including contributing to the production of communications plans and campaigns, producing press releases and copy for various publications as well as for the website and digital media. You will provide professional communications advice and guidance to a range of staff, including senior officers and members and respond to media enquiries.
You will have good knowledge of local, regional and national media, experience of effectively monitoring and evaluating your work, ensuring communications channels and engagement activity are engaging and make a positive difference.
No two days are the same – but they will be exciting and will help us tell our story.
Who are we looking for?
You will have good skills and experience of writing and editing engaging copy for a wide range of external communications channels.
You must be able to write, edit and proof copy, work to tight deadlines and work both as part of a team and on your own initiative. You must also be familiar with digital marketing including social media, using website content management systems and e-communications.
The ability to record and edit video footage is desirable.

The position is full time (37 hours) for a Fixed Term of 2 years.
