Communications Manager
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Communication Manager with a keen motivation to drive positive social and environmental impact, addressing the climate and ecological emergency.
Position: Communications Manager
Location: Remote with occasional travel within the UK, most regularly to London.
Hours: 3 days per week, flexible
Salary: £43,000 FTE
Contract: Permanent contract; subject to a 6-month probationary period
Closing date: Midnight 27th June 2028
The Role
As Communications Manager you will have a track record of developing and implementing communications strategies and campaigns, and experience delivering to different audiences across channels – website, media, digital and social – with a strong network of contacts.

As Communications Manager you will:
- Develop and deliver a communications strategy, working alongside colleagues, with the goals of:
- Raising the profile of environmental philanthropy
- Inspiring donors to support environmental causes
- Helping donors understand what effective environmental philanthropy looks like
- Helping different audiences understand what the organisation does and how they can support them
- Creating and managing a series of effective communications campaigns
- Creating content for and managing our website and social media channels
- Creating content for our members based on events, including event summaries
- Identifying and managing media opportunities
- Creating compelling stories to demonstrate philanthropic impact on environmental issues
- Assisting with the delivery and design of communications around events
- Proofreading and copy-editing the work of others on the teem (see what we did there!)
- Monitoring and reporting on the impact of communications with staff, board, and network
About You
As Communications Manager, you will be confident and proactive, happy to work remotely as part of a small team.
You will also have the following knowledge, experience, and skills:
- A great communicator with outstanding writing skills
- Experienced in strategy, storytelling, media, and social media
- Good at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Entrepreneurial, able to find and create opportunities that raise their profile
- Experienced across channels, including knowledge of different tools
About the Organisation
They are based in the UK and aim to increase the overall level of financial support for civil society groups working on environmental causes and to help increase the effectiveness of environmental philanthropy — and, ultimately, of environmental work. They bring together over 300 trusts, foundations, and individuals making grants on environmental issues, and also act as a resource to strengthen the effectiveness of the broader environment sector.
